Hannibal for Dinner

Hannibal is one of the best network shows I’ve seen in a while, almost worth watching just to see Lawrence Fishburne growl at everybody. Mads Mikkelsen is nefarious and worthy of inheriting the character Brian Cox and Anthony Hopkins played before him.
It’s also one of the grossest tv shows I’ve seen, with such tasty scenes as Hannibal Lecter preparing a girl’s lungs for dinner, and a plot of decaying humans used to cultivate mushrooms.
I found myself eating dinner while watching the show on Hulu. And I didn’t stop eating. Am I desensitized to the violence on tv, or does watching Hannibal enjoy his food just make me hungry?
