Sci-(Non)Fi highlights the latest advances in technology that have turned science fiction into reality, i.e., the real stuff that’s more imaginative that the stuff I can think up.

The UK Ministry of Defense is to begin testing an almost entirely autonomous drone called Taranis.

The International Business Times reports that the $223.25 million project from British aerospace firm BAE

will incorporate technology allowing it to use on-board computers to perform airborne manoeuvres, avoid threats and identify targets.

“Identify targets”? I can’t help feeling that this is a disaster waiting to happen.  I hope Jessica Biel is still there to save us from it.
