METAMORPHOSIS, the Comic Book Begins!

January 28, 2013 § Leave a comment

Work on the comic book adaptation of our script Metamorphosis is under way!  A horror story about a teenage girl whose brother wakes up transformed into a zombie, the story is an updating of Kafka’s story of the same name.

Check out two of the inks below:

1) A scan of the cover.  Obviously, this cover is a work-in-progress with no text or color, but I think it already goes a long way to establish the book’s tone.

2) One of the better internal pages, hinting at what Gregor has become.  There will be some captions, but no color.  I’m planning on a stark, black and white comic book.

[*Edit: Damn you Saucer County.  I swear I only saw the cover for issue #11 on Sunday, a week after I drew my pencils.  This is the image I thought I was copying for the cover:

I don’t have the credit for the cover designer, but this is the 1993 Random House hardcover edition of Angels & Insects, which I read as a teenager.  I don’t remember the “angels” half the book, but the “insects” half – about an entomologist and incest or somesuch – was adapted into a not-great movie starring Patsy Kensit.]

Thanks for checking out the pages!  I’ll be putting together a pitch in the next few weeks.
